Three months into Ace and finally we had our welcome party for fall semester diluted with the farewell for the outgoing batch. I later came to regret the very own fact of two different things cramped into one small room due to the blissful atmosphere generated by more than four hundred acers.
The event provided a relief after the hectic mid term exams and a chance to take studies out of the equation and enjoy the company of fellow classmates along with people whom one would not have had the opportunity to talk. The event comprised of dancing, singing and band performances that wooed the crowd. The highlight of the event was the farewell video dedicated to the 8th Semester students and the beautiful rendition of "Someone like you".
Overall, the event summarized the whole idea of saying goodbye to the 4 years that the seniors spent and make them cherish each moment as they step outside of Ace. For us, the 1st Semester students, it was a timely reminder that we have 4 years to go and that this is the start for us to make memories. Like a relay race, the outgoing batch gave us the flag to continue the philosophy and tradition of Acers, "working hard, partying harder"
Not everyone followed the dress code but accepted everything else, the tough security; the compulsory 100 rupees pin for 1st Semester students and yes the highly debated two-piece chicken! The event was not a perfect ten however most things in life are not perfect; even Leonardo Da Vinci forgot to paint Mona Lisa's eyebrow.
